Journalist Nicholas Boyack has long been fascinated by Harry McNish. Buried in Karori, Shackleton’s ship Endurance’s carpenter and shipwright, he constantly worked to improve the men’s conditions; outfitted the lifeboat James Caird for the 1,3000 kms Southern Ocean voyage to South Georgia,  at the Victoria University of Wellington Law School, Old Government Buildings, Lambton Quay.
