Prof. Timothy Shannon (Gettysburg College) will present The Curious Career of Peter Williamson, or How a Scottish Indentured Servant in America Became Edinburgh’s King of the Indians. Timothy won last year’s Frank Watson Prize for his book Indian Captive, Indian King which tells the story of “Indian Peter,” the Aberdeenshire boy taken to Philadelphia and sold for £16 in 1743.
