MemberLindsay Campbell‘s great grandfather James Campbell (born 1825 – family from Kilfinan, Argyll) served his apprenticeship in British waters; came to New Zealand in 1855 – had had time in India (cholera) and the Australian gold fields. Few internal roads in the country so coastal shipping was vital; James and two brothers very involved.
